Joe Cruz also coaches at Winks JW Family Gym helping students to reach their goals. His consistency and repetitions is what makes him a great coach. Hardnose conditioning has been instilled in him by Coach Mike Winkeljohn over the many years they worked together.
Joe Cruz has also competed in several half marathons as well as ran 2 full marathons.

He has been cornering and traveling with our fighters all over the country.
Joe Cruz is an Albuquerque native and has been coaching and competing on the local and international scene for a long time. In 1996 after graduating high school, he walked into Mike Winkeljohn's AKKA Kickboxing school and never looked back. He has been working with Coach Mike Winkeljohn for over 20 years.
Joe Cruz has competed in the International Kickboxing Federation, National Amateur Championships, and IKF/TKO USA. He won a Super Welterweight Muay Thai Title by TKO. His Amateur record is 12W-2L

Joe Cruz is also a Professional Boxer with 5 bouts under his belt.

His coaching specialty is in various arts of striking, like Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Boxing, with his style being geared towards MMA fighting.
