BRANDON GIBSON
Coach Brandon Gibson was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brandon began practicing traditional martial arts and boxing at a young age. In 2005, Brandon began training under Mike Winkeljohn and Greg Jackson. In 2009, Brandon started coaching at Jackson Wink MMA Academy, working as a striking coach for fighters such as Jon Jones, Carlos Condit, John Dodson, Cub Swanson, Tim Kennedy, Rustam Khabilov, Alistair Overeem, Andrei Arlovski, Joby Sanchez, Timur Valiev and many others.
While he may be one of the youngest high-level coaches in MMA today, Coach Gibson has worked hard to develop world class skill as a mitt holder and a corner man for professional MMA athletes. Like his mentors, Coach Jackson and Coach WInkeljohn, Brandon is focused on developing and constantly applying new techniques and strategies in the ever evolving sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Working as a coach at Jackson Wink MMA Academy has led to multiple opportunities to work with numerous world champions, while helping to develop future up-and-coming champions.
Coach Gibson loves to take his fighters to the top of the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, to work on elevation training and mental preparation before their fights. In 2012, UFC Magazine named Brandon as one of the top 100 MMA trainers in the world, along with his mentors Coach Greg Jackson and Coach Mike Winkeljohn.
Brandon and his wife Colleen are parents to three boys, who all enjoy practicing martial arts. In his spare time, Brandon likes to repair watches, read books and magazines, work in his beautiful garden, and watch old boxing fights.
