Coach Bart Lujan

Coach Bart Lujan is an Albuquerque native. He has been with Team Jackson Wink for over 10 years, teaching MMA, Wrestling, and Strength & Conditioning. Wrestling coach of 27 years, he coached at Moriarty High School, Albuquerque High School and Valley High School. He specializes coaching in Collegian, Freestyle, and Greco Roman styles of wrestling. Coach Lujan also coached New Mexico National All-Star Team for over 3 years.

 

He worked with many notable MMA fighters, such as Diego Sanchez, Joby Sanchez, Donald Sanchez, Cody East, Andre Arlovski, Angel Cabral, Chris Barnett and many others.

Personal career wrestling highlights include:

 

4x New Mexico State placer, 3 as a Freshman Year at 98 Pounds, 2nd Sophomore Year at 112 pounds, Junior Year State Champion, and 119 Senior Year State Champion at 125 pounds for Valley High School 1988-1991.

 

1989 Junior Olympics 5th in Freestyle Wrestling and 2nd in Greco Roman Wrestling. High School National Championship Pittsburgh Pennsylvania held at Duquesne University, 8th in the Nation.

 

4x High School All American. Junior College NJCAA 2x All American at Garden City Junior College.

New Mexico Wrestling Hall Of Fame Nominee.

 

1986 Track State Champion. 1st Place 800 Meter Run. Diving: lobo aquatic team coached by Ron Pimentel  National Championship held at UNLV 1987, 1st place 1 meter, 2nd place 3 meter.
